Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is about a boy who is a demigod. He is the son of a human and the Greek God Poseidon. He has to leave his home in downtown New York and go to a camp full of other demigods and Greek mythological creatures. With his friends, he goes on an adventure to find Zeus' stolen thunderbolt.
This book was written by Rick Riordan in 2005. Rick Riordan is known for his adaptations of Greek, Roman, Norse, and Egyptian mythology. He writes books for elementary to high schoolers. This book was really important to me as it made me interested in Greek mythology. I highly recommend this book and Riordan's other books for those who haven't read them. They are really fun and interesting. They are also closely based on the legends of the Greek Gods and demigods while taking some creative liberties.
